Researchers and guest professors

Researchers:

  • The holders of a doctoral degree or an academic title which can be equated therewith or who have extraordinary scientific merits that can be seen from an attestation issued by the host institution;
  • who are selected and invited by a university, an institution of higher education or a recognised scientific institution;
  • who will participate full-time in a programme or a project of scientific research conducted in the host institution and who will enjoy scientific guidance for this;
  • who receive remuneration or a subsidy that at least corresponds to the pay scale of a lecturer at universities, institutions of higher education or recognised scientific institutions.

 

Guest professors:

  • The holders of a doctoral degree or an academic title which can be equated therewith or who have extraordinary scientific merits that can be seen from an attestation issued by the host institution;
  • who are invited by a university, an institution of higher education or a recognised scientific institution, with a view to the provision of education or participation in research within the host institution;
  • who are considered as qualified at the level of the teaching staff of the French-speaking universities or institutions of higher education or of the independent academic staff of the Flemish universities or of the same level in the Flemish institutions of higher education;
  • who receive remuneration in a pay-scale of the teaching staff of the French-speaking universities or institutions of higher education or of the independent academic staff of the Flemish universities or of the same level in the Flemish institutions of higher education.
    Without prejudice to the provisions of Articles 34 and 35 of the Royal Decree of 9 June 1999, the above-mentioned remuneration may not be granted insofar as can be proven that the guest professor is being further remunerated during his stay by his home institution.
